Founded in 1976, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation cultivates regional change for the common good through collective leadership, social innovation and philanthropy to address the evolving community needs in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.
We partner with individuals, families and corporations who have created more than 480 philanthropic funds and/or have contributed to one of the Foundation’s funds to be a crucial part of our mission. Thanks to them, in 2018 we invested $6.8 million in grants and programs in our community. Additionally, as part of our mission, we serve as the backbone organization for the regional FutureMakers Coalition and Lee County’s Sustainability Plan.
We relocated our regional headquarters in Collaboratory through a public-private partnership with the City of Fort Myers and the Community Redevelopment Agency. This allows us to provide stewardship of a valuable community resource and provide leadership in gathering and galvanizing people, ideas and philanthropy – an extension of our long-standing commitment to community engagement and advancing positive economic momentum.
